MOVE THE JOY SERIES

This series draws inspiration from the natural resilience and subtle strength found in everyday forms—be it umbrellas braving the rain or delicate flowers swaying in a field. Central to each composition is the stem, a symbol of the life force and the main conduit through which energy flows and sustains the structure it supports.

Employing a wet on dry watercolor technique, this collection explores the intricate dance between water and paper. This method allows the water to channel and pool into the fibers of the paper, creating a vibrant interplay of color absorption and resistance. Each stroke and choice of hue is a deliberate act of communication, expressing how different colors hold onto and release from the paper, mirroring the way nature absorbs and reflects life’s energies.

The series aims to shift the viewer's focus to these often-overlooked supports—the stems and handles—inviting a deeper contemplation of what truly sustains and nourishes. By emphasizing these elements through vivid colors and dynamic contrasts, I hope to illuminate the underlying strength and beauty of these pivotal but understated parts of life.

Through these artworks, I invite the audience to consider the foundational aspects of existence and the quiet yet powerful sources of energy in our environment, encouraging a newfound appreciation for the unassuming yet essential supports that anchor and enrich our lives.
