ASPEN HEART ROCK PROJECT GRID SERIES

The GRID Series is a celebration of a unique and magical connection with nature, inspired by the first 60 heart-shaped rocks I discovered while exploring the mountainous terrains of Aspen. These heart-shaped rocks, each a serendipitous find, reveal themselves to me as I bike and hike through the Rockies, embodying a pure and enchanting encounter with the natural world.

This series meticulously captures the distinct essence of each heart-shaped rock. Every piece is a testament to the individual character and story of the rocks, emphasizing their natural beauty and the personal significance they hold. Framed and mounted on linen canvas within a sleek 20”x20”x 2” acrylic frame, each composition—comprising 16, 24, or 36 rocks—serves as a structured yet organic array that invites viewers to explore the subtle differences and similarities between each rock.

The GRID Series not only showcases the aesthetic and emotional impact of these rocks but also underscores the profound sense of discovery and connection that comes from finding these natural treasures. By arranging them in a grid, I highlight the collective beauty of the rocks while honoring the individual journey of each piece from the heart of the Rocky Mountains to the art space. This project is an invitation to witness the intimate and captivating dialogue between art and nature, framed in a way that magnifies the inherent magic of each discovery.
